A man, who authorities say has been running from the law, again tried to slip through their fingers. This time he failed.
U.S. Marshals arrested 30-year-old David Milam Tuesday night in Onslow County. Members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force got tipped off that Milam was staying in a home on Hall Point Road in Sneads Ferry.
When Milam saw officers coming, they say he ran to the river and jumped in. Milam started to swim away, but officials say he returned to shore where he was arrested.
Milam was wanted by N.C. State Probation and Parole as an absconder for the original offense of assault by strangulation. He's now behind bars in the Onslow County Jail.
