Man Kills Wife, Mother-In-Law At Marshall Home

Investigators say a 61-year-old man shot and killed his wife and bedridden mother-in-law while other family members In the Madison County home barricaded themselves in the basement.

Deputies said James Lagrua went on the shooting spree Friday night. He gave up two handguns and a shotgun to officers when they arrived, after getting a 911 call from the people hiding in the basement.

Authorities say Lagrua's wife, Stephanie, was found shot several times in the chest in the kitchen of the home near Marshall, while her 86-year-old mother was found in a bed with a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators say Lagrua had no criminal history and they aren't sure why he started shooting.

Lagrua is in jail, charged with murder. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
