A man from Pinetops went before a judge Tuesday on multiple sex offense charges.
Deputies said 31-year-old Quentin Hines of Pinetops was arrested around 2:30 Monday afternoon by the Pitt County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said their investigation began in April of this year when the mother of the victim filed a report with investigators.
Inappropriate contact was made with the victim in both Pitt County and Beaufort County, according to investigators.
Hines is now charged with three counts of first degree sex offense against a child and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Hines has a $75,000 bond.
Deputies said charges will also likely be filed from the Washington Police Department.
