Police in Elizabeth City say they arrested a Virginia murder suspect Tuesday night, along with clearing up an unrelated drug case from another county.
Michael Eason was wanted for a murder that happened in Suffolk.
The 28-year-old was arrested at Hickory Village Trailer Park after a Gates County deputy approached Elizabeth City police with information that Eason and his girlfriend, who was wanted on drug charges, had just moved to the trailer park.
Christy Caro was first arrested on conspiracy to traffic opiates from both Perquimans and Gates counties at their trailer, while Eason was nabbed at another trailer by the department's SWAT team.
Eason was arrested on a fugitive warrant for first degree murder, attempted robbery and use of a firearm in a felony. He is jailed on a $750,000 secured bond awaiting a hearing to be sent back to Virginia.
Caro, who is 33 years old, was jailed on a $25,000 bond and has a March 6th first appearance.
