Man Charged With Raping 13-Year-Old Girl

A 20-year-old man is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl who he knew.

Carteret County deputies arrested Marcel Jenkins of Newport on Wednesday for the sex crime.

He's been charged with statutory rape and placed in jail on a $250,000 bond. Deputies say their investigation in this case is continuing.
