Man Charged With Five Armed Robberies

A man is accused of multiple armed robberies, dating back to 2011 in both Goldsboro and Mount Olive. An employee was shot in one of those hold-ups.

Wayne Adams is charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Adams is accused in the December 2011 attempted robbery at Los Fogones restaurant in Goldsboro, the August 22nd robbery at the China King restaurant in Goldsboro, the Christmas day robbery at the Madison meat Market in Goldsboro, the August 28th attempted robbery of H&S Variety Store in Mount Olive, and the August 29th robbery at Yummy Yogurt in Mount Olive.

Police say in the China King hold-up, Adams fired one shot, hitting an employee in the ankle. In another attempt, police say Adams came into H&S Variety demanding money, but an employee pulled his own gun out and the robber left.

The 32-year-old Adams is jailed on a $1.035 million bond.
