Kinston Man Accused Of Strangling Girlfriend

A Lenoir County man with a criminal history of abusing women is behind bars again, charged with a similar crime.

The Kinston Free Press reports Corey Thomas, 38, of Kinston, was arrested after choking his girlfriend in Lagrange to the point she was starting to pass out.

Lenoir County court records show Thomas is charged with felony assault by strangulation.

State records show a lengthy rap sheet for Thomas. He got out of prison in 2009 for a conviction of assaulting a female.
