POLICE: Suspect In Kidnapping, Shooting "Armed & Dangerous"

Lawmen in Mount Olive say they have a suspect in Tuesday morning's kidnapping and subsequent shooting on Oliver Street.

Shontionne Darden is wanted for kidnapping, armed robbery, assault by pointing a gun and discharging a firearm into occupied property. Police say 26-year-old should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

The home on Oliver Street was shot up after the residents told police they spotted a woman flagging down cars around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, saying she had been kidnapped in Goldsboro. The homeowners brought the victim inside, but then went outside for a brief moment when a red vehicle drove up and the driver asked if they had seen a woman seeking help.

Police say the homeowners told the man they hadn't seen the woman and as they went back inside the driver opened fire, riddling the house with gunfire.

Authorities say Darden could be in the southern Wayne County or northern Duplin County area.
