Juveniles Charged With Vandalizing 83 Grave Markers

Damage has been estimated at $100,000 to a cemetery that was hit by vandals. Now three juveniles have been charged with the damage.

Wayne County deputies say on November 11th they got a report of vandalism to the cemetery at Providence United Methodist Church as well as a Boy Scout facility on their property.

Dozens of tombstones were either knocked over or broken with a baseball bat believed to be used by the vandals. Deputies learned the suspects may have been juveniles that live in the area and eventually juvenile petitions were filed against the three.

Deputies say the three boys ages 11, 13 and 14 are charged with 83 different counts of disturbing of a casket and/or grave marker, breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.

I heard a minister say that if parents were punished for the crimes of their children, the juvenile crime rate would drop to zero.

Who does something like this?! They break into churches to steal and destroy, now they are vandalizing the cemetary!! Parents where are you?!!! Can't blame Obama, school system or social economy for stupidity!!

Boredom? What a lame excuse for doing wrong. They could just as easily done a charitable deed as an evil deed. I doubt boredom had anything to do with it. This is just a catch-all excuse that people use to try to divert responsibility.

...These are just bad kids? With bad parent(s)? Or is it the school system? Social Services should have stepped in? Obama's "hope & change" not working like he said it would? The soil/ground in the area the kids grew up in is tainted with a disease that destroys brain cells when they play outside?

This is outrageous! These kids should have to pay for all the damage they have done! And they should be the ones who have to go out and fix the damage! It is a shame that anyone would do such a thing!

Public outrage and judicial views can be very different. The young thugs will get a little pat on the wrist. I doubt there will be a penny of restitution.
