Jacksonville High Speed Chase Ends With Crash Into Forestry Truck

A high speed chase ends with a suspects car crashing into a state forestry vehicle.

Troopers say one driver crashed into this forestry truck before 8:00 p.m. Thursday night. Investigators tell us 21-year-old Tantelis Mendonis was trying to outrun the highway patrol when he went around a bend in Jacksonville, flipped his SUV four or five times, then hit the parked truck. Jeff Parker with the U.S. Forestry Service says he's noticed people regularly speed down Harris Creek Road.

"They don't think about others when they're on the road. That's the problem we got, and I'm just glad nobody got killed last night," said Parker.

Troopers say the driver and his two passengers made it out.
