The investigation continues into 25 burglaries in the past month in Emerald Isle and police aren't saying whether they have all their suspects yet.
The break-ins came to light Tuesday night when the police chief of Emerald Isle was involved in a chase of three burglary suspects. They're now in jail while the chief is recovering in the hospital after that chase ended in a crash.
Some of those homes broken into were along a stretch from 21st to 23rd street in Emerald Isle. Police believe that the men would use the cover of the beach side because it's away from the main street--and break into the vacant homes. They say the men would then steal from the home.
Tom Kush has been renting a home a few streets down from where some of the break-ins are said to have taken place--and says with it being the off season--the opportunity is there.
Police say the break-ins are believed to have happened all within the last month.
All three of the suspects arrested so far are from the Greenville area.
