Habitual Felon Charged With Urine Assault

An inmate at Maury Correctional Institution is in 23-hour a day segregation after prison officials say he threw urine on five staff members.

Regermaine Ross, who is serving 26 years on a habitual felon charge, is now facing charges of assault on a government official and malicious conduct by a prisoner.

The Department of Correction says the attack happened October 12th when Ross threw urine on the officers, hit at least one of them with his handcuffs, and attempted to headbutt them. The DOC says three of those officers were treated for minor injuries for the assault.

Ross is only allowed one hour for exercise and shower outside of his cell. He has a Friday court date on the charges.

Back in the day that I came along in DOC an inmate would not even think of throwing piss on the officers. That was back when inmates were in their place in the rank of things of convicts and chain gang. It sure has changed to what it is today. Lawyers and Politics that is the big problem. Too many politicians children and their neighbors children in prisons these days. It is a time now of politicians having to buy that criminals or his families vote because the politicians just don't do the hororable things anymore!

Aside from being really nasty, I'll bet this is not the first time an inmate has done that, over the last century. I guess anything can be used as a weapon in prison. You'd think he would be aware of the 'good behavior' rule; he's flubbed that now.

He will only get a slap on the wrist. It will take at least 3 officers and two vehicles to carry him to court. He will get charged, but it will run concurrent with his current sentence he is now serving. He gets a day out of prison, which is what he wants, its like a kid going to the park for a day.

My sister and neighbor work for DOC and this is an every day occurrence for them... so I wonder why this particular incident made the news. I wish they'd publicize events like this every day and people would quit being so sympathetic to criminals. It is sickening all the rights they have!

All the more reason that "Habitual Felons" should be put down. Why tie up the system with these low lifes that will never contribute anything to society. They have already proven that they can't be out it public without disrupting it. Save the tax payer's some money...

Bet he gets direct tv, internet, 3 hots, a cot, and hvac during his 23 hour "segregation". You think he really cares with his cushy environment....I'll bet he'll do it again if given the chance. Provide the right kind of punishment like a 4 X 4 concrete cell with no lights or maybe busting rocks outside all day would get his attention.

Isn't it a shame the things we humans do that are so disgusting and sickening, but yet a common barnyard animal would not even consider doing. Were the intelligent ones, yea
