Guns, Money & Drugs Found In Belhaven Home

Semi-automatic handguns, guns and drugs were seized after a raid on a home in Belhaven Wednesday.

Beaufort County deputies arrested Carlton Rome and Ella Williams, both who live on Lee Street. There they seized 75 grams of coke, nearly $9,500 in cash, two semi-automatic handguns, marijuana and drug packaging material.

The two were charged with level I trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling to facilitate drug activity, possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rome was also charged with possession of a firearm by felon.

Rome's bond was set at $100,000 secured, while a magistrate set Williams' at $70,000 secured.

Belhaven is a place where there are no jobs for the poor people, I'm not saying that selling drugs is the right thing to do, it's not,but people are hurting and if some of the officials down there would take the time to bring in some jobs for the poor people to do,to make a little money, then just maybe they wouldn't have such a big drug problem, stop talking about the problem, and get a solution, people have to make a living, the right way, or the wrong way, if there is not right way, what do you think the poor will do?

Thanks BCSO for cleaning the streets. The poor town police are bound by the council. There only seems to be one or two officers who go aginst the council and actualy work. Such a shame that adam has to have his hands in everything that he knows nothing about.

Why was the woman only put on a $70,000 bond? Typical justice in the U.S. I bet she gets a lot less punishment too. You talk about discrimination.

Maybe thats what you would have done with seized evidence but the "Cops" placed it into evidence for court. Their job and career isn't worth $500.00 or more....

I've found that the people that accuse others of cheating, are usually the first ones to cheat.
