The Pitt County Sheriff's Office, like many others, is dealing with more and more cases of prescription drugs being stolen or sold illegally.

Wednesday deputies arrested 55-year-old Levi Spencer of Greenville and charged him with trafficking opium and heroin. They say when they arrested him at the intersection of Dickinson Avenue and Hooker Road, he had 80 dosage units of oxycodone with a street value of $640. A drug complaint led to the investigation.
