The investigation continues after a school was put on lockdown and a street closed following a shooting in a nearby neighborhood.
Greenville Police say a man told them he was walking down the street and got an uneasy feeling when a car slowed down behind him in the Kearney Park area, so he took off running.
Six to seven shots were fired, but the man didn't know if the shots were fired at him or in the air.
Police say they spotted a vehicle matching the description on Howell Street. Two people inside the car were detained for questioning, but have since been released.
Officers say further investigation is required.
South Greenville Elementary School was placed on lockdown for a short period of time.
