Goldsboro Man Hit By Gunfire, Stray Bullets Hit Home

One person was shot and stray bullets hit a home nearby in a shooting --police need you help to solve.

It happened at the 1000 block of Devereaux Street in Goldsboro, Christmas Eve.

Officers say shots fired in the area, struck Tavaris Whitfield while he stood near his car.

Stray rounds also hit a nearby home where two women were inside, they were not hurt.

Whitfield tried to drive himself to the hospital when he got into a car accident near Wayne Memorial Drive Overpass and Highway 70.

The other driver was not injured.

No word on Whitfield's condition, although he did survive.
