Greenville police said a man reported being stabbed by a woman that began as a romantic rendezvous.
According to Greenville Police spokeswoman Kristen Hunter, a man told officers he picked up a woman outside of a store somewhere in Pitt County on Friday night.
According to the man, the pair drove to an abandoned house in the city to have an intimate encounter.
"Once there, the victim stated the female stabbed him," said Hunter.
Greenville investigators said while that man tried driving himself to the hospital, he could not. That's was when officers said they got a call to pick him up near 5th and Arlington around 7 a.m. Saturday.
The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
Hunter said police are still working to gather details about the crime and determine exactly where the stabbing occurred.
Officers said they have made no arrests in the case.
