Former Pirate QB Due In Court

A former East Carolina University quarterback is due in court today, accused of stealing on the job.

Patrick Pinkney faces eight counts of larceny by employee in Roanoke Rapids. That's where police say he was an assistant manager at Belk, until last month. He's accused of stealing nearly $4,200 from the business.

Pinkney was the starting quarterback for ECU from 2007 to 2009.

This goes to show you, that you can give these people everything, and they still commit crimes!

Just where in the story did it say this was a racially motivated crime. Last I read this was a theft of money so what he likes white women. that is not a crime. Don't miss the big picture here. The man is a thief and if you ask him he did not care who he stole from.

This is the result of a society that takes fashion, language, behavior and values from the worst culture among us. The lowest common denominator with our "melting pot" of cultures leads to this denigration of society.

I thought he was good enough to go Pro.....what happened? I guess he chose a different profession. In NC, crime pays...then if you get caught, it feeds and houses you. Then it pays for your appeals and releases you from all your debts if you stay in prison.

You are wrong on that! The ECU Pirate Club foots the bill for student-athletes who get a scholarship. It's not the students or the taxpayers.
