A Maryland teacher and coach, who was a former ECU star pitcher, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Foye Minton, Jr. has been charged with child abuse by the Baltimore County Police Department.

Police say between January 2009 and December 2010, Minton had a relationship with a teenage girl who was one of his students when he was Dean of Students and Director of Athletics at the Shoshanna S. Cardin School in Baltimore. He was arrested last Thursday at the Day School at Baltimore Hebrew, where he currently worked.

The 33-year-old Minton, who is originally from Wanchese, lettered baseball for East Carolina from 1998 to 2001, pitching a no hitter in 1999 against NC State and helping pitch another no hitter the next year against Duke.

Maryland police say the relationship with the student lasted four years, and the sexual activity happened at Minton's home, at the school and at other locations in Baltimore County.

Police believe there are possibly other victims in the case.
