FIRST WITN: Two Fires Destroy Mobile Homes In Greene County

The SBI is investigating a suspected case of arson in a small community in the east overnight.

The chief of the Shine Fire Department in Greene County says the SBI is looking into a suspicious fire in an abandoned mobile home near the intersection of Highway 13 and Oakdale Road.

Chief Jeremy Anderson tells WITN crews were called to the fire at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. We'll follow up with the SBI for more details today on the investigation.

Just two hours later, Chief Anderson says a fire that started on a man's stove completely destroyed his mobile home. This fire was reported at 10:30 p.m. on the 2700 block of Titus Mewborn Road in Greene County.

The chief says the home is a total loss, but the man who lived there made it out okay.
