New Bern Fire Marshal Danny Hill said his crew was up at 5AM on Saturday morning to battle a blaze near an occupied home. Now that fire has been deemed suspicious.
Hill said an out building on Gerogia Avenue, in New Bern, was a total loos. No injuries were reported. Hill said the storage building housed a few grills and lawn mowing equipment. While the fire stayed contained to the storage building, it was near an occupied home.
"We have had several suspicious fires in this area over the last few years," said Hill. "Our investigation is continuing, but there are no suspects at this time.
