Greenville police say they're investigating a suspicious fire at a self storage facility.

Police say they were called to Hooker Road Self Storage on Thursday to investigate a fire that was already extinguished. Detectives determined someone appears to have used a glass container with a flammable liquid to try to set the storage building on fire.

The damage to the building is minimal, police say. There is smoke damage and melted siding outside and no damage inside.

An office manager at the facility on Friday morning told WITN that some of the insulation in the roof did catch fire, and they felt pretty lucky the fire was not more destructive.

The Greenville Fire-Rescue Department Fire Marshal is investigating the fire along with police.
