ECU Criminal Justice Career Fair Gives Criminal's Perspective Of K-9

Students at East Carolina University got quite the show when heading to class Wednesday thanks to the demonstration put on by the K-9 unit with the military police out of Fort Bragg.

The show was all a part the 2012 Criminal Justice Career Fair at the university. Members displayed a number of take downs including a mock K-9 attack of WITN reporter Clayton Bauman. He put on a padded suit to see just how serious these dogs are and made it out uninjured. The K-9 team also demonstrated narcotics detection techniques.

Other organizations inside the Mendenhall Student Center included the Highway Patrol and the Coast Guard.

Criminal Justice Chair Dr. William Bloss says the field is ripe with opportunity.

"Criminal justice is one of the largest employers in the nation and it captivates a significant amount of funding, both at the federal and state level," said ECU Criminal Justice Dept. Chair Dr. William Bloss.

If you are interested in a job with the military K-9 police you can contact any Army recruiter.
