Dollar General Employees Robbed While Walking To Vehicles

Two employees walking to their vehicles after work were robbed at gunpoint Sunday night.

Newport police say the two women were not injured in the hold-up in the parking lot of the Dollar General on U.S. 70 East around 10:30 p.m.

Police say the gunman had a small caliber handgun. He is described as a white man wearing a black ski mask, a hooded camouflage coat and faded blue jeans.

They say the robber was last running toward Bayberry Road, crossing over U.S. 70.
