A deputy received a minor injury after a sheriff's vehicle was rammed by a drug suspect during a chase.
Dare County deputies say narcotics officers tried to stop a vehicle on Old Wharf Road Wednesday evening.
Deputies chased the vehicle and eventually got on Highway 158. Near the Dairy Queen in Nags Head, the vehicle switched directions where it rammed a cruiser. Deputies and Narcotics Task Force officers pinned the vehicle in a vacant lot next to the Dairy Queen.
David Lee of Manteo is facing 24 different charges. Those include assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of sell or deliver heroin, nine counts of resisting a public officer, felony flee or elude arrest with motor vehicle, speeding and a half dozen other traffic charges.
The 26-year-old man is in the Dare County jail under a $185.000 bond.
