NEW INFO: Second Suspect Captured In La Grange Homicide

A second suspect is behind bars for the killing of a 21-year-old man in La Grange. The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office says William Cannon was arrested Friday night around 6 o'clock at a Fayetteville motel.

Cannon was wanted in connection to the July 18th homicide of Duane Bright, Jr. Demico Cannon, William's brother, was arrested last week for the same crime.

Deputies say tips and other information led detectives with the sheriff's office to Fayetteville. Fayetteville Police assisted with the operation.

Authorities say Cannon cooperated and was taken into custody without incident. He is being held in the Lenoir County Detention Center with no bond.

Sheriff Chris Hill said, "this arrest brings our second suspect into custody, but it is not the end of the investigation. Detectives will continue to work on leads to bring this incident to a close, but for now the two known suspects are in custody. My detectives and the assisting agencies have spent countless hours following the suspects' trail and I am thankful for their dedication that helped bring him to justice."
