The owner of a daycare center is behind bars after police say she stabbed her husband.
Maysville police say Lynneill Lanclos operates Golden Child Learning on Eighth Street. Police say she and her husband were involved in a domestic disturbance at their home on First Street around 6:00 a.m. Monday.
When officers arrived they found the woman bleeding from her lip and bruised on her face and arms. She told officers that she and her husband, Joaquin, got into a verbal argument that turned into a physical fight.
The woman said after exchanging blows, she left the home and then returned where it started up again. It's at this point the husband was stabbed with a kitchen knife on the left side of his upper torso, missing his lungs by less than a half inch, police say.
Lynneill Lanclos was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, while Joaquin Lanclos was also arrested on a domestic violence charge.
Police say it's not their first encounter with the daycare center owner. Several weeks ago she was arrested after police say she beat a woman in front of her children at a local fast food drive-thru. In that case the victim had severe facial cuts that required multiple stitches.
The daycare center is closed today.
