Deputies say they found a child rape suspect hiding in the bedroom of a friend's home.
Joshua Pelt of Pikeville is charged with first degree rape of a child and indecent liberties with a child. The victim is 12 years old.
Deputies say they began their investigation December 7th and then obtained warrants for Pelt on January 10th. They say Pelt was aware of the warrant and moved to different locations in an attempt to evade arrest. They located the 42-year-old man at a friend's home on Gurley Dairy Road after a search of the home with the owner's consent.
Pelt was jailed on a $510,000 bond.
