DEPUTIES: Rape Suspect Breaks Into Home, Flees In Victim's Car

Deputies said a man broke into a woman's home before 5AM on Wednesday and sexually assaulted her, then drove off in her car.

Wayne County deputies arrested 19-year-old Marvin Breeden of Goldsboro after a chase through the woods. Investigators got a call early Wednesday morning that a man broke into a woman's home, raped her, and stole property from the house, then left in the victim's vehicle.

One deputy on patrol spotted the car on Highway 117, north of Goldsboro. Deputies said Breeden would not stop the car, and deputies chased him until the vehicle wrecked at Hooks River Road and Carolina Street. Investigators said Breeden dashed into the nearby woods. He was tracked down with a canine unit and arrested.

The 19-year-old is currently in jail with a $1 million secured bond. He is facing multiple charges including first degree burglary, first degree rape, and first degree kidnapping. Deputies say additional charges related to the pursuit will follow.
