A jail inmate has been transferred to the state prison system after deputies say he assaulted detention officers on three different occasions.
Steven Jackson of Washington has been charged with malicious conduct by a prisoner, three counts of assault on a government official, injury to real property and injury to personal property.
Beaufort County deputies say the 26-year-old Jackson was being held in the segregation cell bock at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
They say on Friday Jackson first damaged a section of metal protective screen, then around 3:00 p.m. the inmate threw milk through the cell door screen at two officers. Later that night, deputies say Jackson threw urine on another officer, who was hit in the face and torso.
Jackson, who was in jail for common law robbery, had his bond increased by $50,000.
