The owner of an Eastern Carolina garage has been arrested after deputies say he sold a customer's vehicle for scrap metal.
John Doyle, owner of Doyle's Garage in Scotland Neck. is charged with obtaining property by false pretense and fail to work after being paid.
Deputies say the victim took their vehicle to the business over a year ago to get repaired, and after several calls to Doyle's Garage about the status of his vehicle the victim was eventually told it had been stolen.
Deputies say what really happened was that Doyle sold it to a nearby scrap metal yard.
The 50-year-old Doyle posted $2,500 bond and has a June 5th court date.
