UPDATE: Local Mom Facing More Tattooing Charges

A local mom already charged with tattooing a heart on her 11-year-old daughter is now facing more charges.

Two more charges were filed in Craven County, against 30-year-old Odessa Clay of Grantsboro. The new charges are tattooing without a permit and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Those are in addition to the original charge of tattooing a person under the age of 18.

Clay told authorities that the daughter wanted the tattoo. She's due in court next Thursday.

Previous story:

A local mom is facing criminal charges because authorities say she took her 11-year-old daughter to get a tattoo.

Craven County lawmen arrested Odessa Clay and charged her with "tattooing a person under the age of 18." Multiple media outlets report that Clay, who as you can see has several tattoos of her own, used her own tools to tattoo a small heart on the 11-year-old girl's shoulder.

Clay is due in court November 15th.
