A former sheriff's lieutenant, who spent six months in a state prison, is getting $115,000 in a settlement from Pitt County.
Michelle Pollard received the payout for a worker's comp claim, made public during Monday night's county commissioners meeting.
Pollard filed a claim after being injured on the job as a Pitt County deputy sheriff.
The woman resigned in 2009, just days before she was indicted on obstruction of justice charges. She spent six months in state prison as a result of her conviction.
Two years later, the family of her dead husband won a $500,000 wrongful death lawsuit against Pollard.
