Martin County deputies say $4,000 worth of marijuana is off the streets following a surveillance operation.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office arrested Vickie Thomas after the narcotics unit received complaints about her involvement in the illegal sale of controlled substances in the Bear Grass area.

During a search of Thomas' residence, the narcotics unit says it seized about 740 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun that they're trying to determine if it was stolen or not.

Deputies also say they found $500.00 worth of oxycodone.

Thomas faces five drug-related charges, as well as possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.
