Carteret Teen Facing Drug, Assault Charges

A teenager accused of bringing drugs to school is also facing charges for assaulting his school resource officer and running from the law.

Court records show 17-year-old Justin Hudnell is facing charges in Carteret County for possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and stealing criminal evidence.

The Carteret County News Times says West Carteret High's school resource officer was filling out paperwork after finding Hudnell with pot, when the student tried to grab the drugs, and the two started to fight.

Hudnell allegedly ran out of the school and into the woods, where police K-9s tracked him down.
