Call Of Breaking And Entering Leads To Drug Bust In Lenoir County

A call of a breaking and entering leads to a drug bust in Lenoir County on Saturday.

According to the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call of a breaking and entering around 2:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on Sleepy Fox Drive in Grifton. The victim said their residence had been broken into and several items had been stolen. The victim also reported seeing a couple of suspects in the area and the victim knew one of the suspects.

Deputies were able to locate that suspect, 16-year old Martez Lynch, at a home on Den Drive.

Deputies were also able to recover the stolen items near that area. Once the suspect realized the stolen items had been recovered the Lynch and 28-year-old Alginald Hart, Jr. barricaded themselves inside the home.

The two refused all contact by officers and family members. During that time another occupant of the home arrived on scene and said there was a loaded weapon inside the home. Deputies also found out there were three small children under the age of 10 at the home.

A Special Response Team was then called to the scene, but before that team arrived the Lynch and Hart came out of the home.

Through further investigation officers discovered that there was marijuana inside the residence. Deputies found three weapons and 12 to 13 pounds of marijuana.

Lynch and Hart are facing multiple charges and are now in jail. Deputies are also looking for another suspect, 37-year-old Alton Cratch. If you have any information on his whereabouts please contact authorities.
