A large amount of drugs is off the streets after the narcotics unit of one police force shut a shipment down.
Kinston Department of Public Safety Commander Tim Dilday says detectives intercepted a shipment of 1,500 packages of heroin traveling through the city Saturday. The bust happened on the 1500 block of Greenville Highway.
Along with the drugs, detectives say they seized about $600 in cash.
Two people from New Jersey are facing charges. Newark residents 46-year-old Dale Foat and 37-year-old Tracey Kyle are locked up in the Lenoir County Jail. Foat is charged with two counts of Trafficking in Heroin and is being held under a $1 million bond. Kyle is charged with Possession of Cocaine and Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping Controlled Substances. Her bond is set at $50,000.
