UPDATE: Arrest Made In Bethel ABC Store Robbery

We have an update on the armed robbery of a local liquor store; a homeless man is now under arrest.

Tony Ward, 22, is currently at the Pitt County Detention Center. He's accused of armed robbery, damaging computers and injury to personal property for the hold up Tuesday night at an ABC store in Bethel.

Ward is being held under a $50,000 bond.

Bethel Police are looking for the man who robbed the ABC store at 7449 Main Street about 6:00p.m. Tuesday night.

A police spokesperson says no one was injured when the man walked into the Pitt County store and demanded money. Police say he got away with cash. Bethel Police are working with ABC Enforcement and the Pitt County Sheriff's Office on the case.

Police are not releasing a picture or description of the suspect at this time, but say they have strong leads. If you have information about the armed robbery you're asked to call Pitt-Grenville Crime Stoppers at (252) 758-7777.
