Bail Bondsman Charged With Stealing $90,000

A bail bondsman had to bail himself out of jail, after he was charged as an accessory in a robbery case in the east.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office arrested Darryl Wayne Daniels of Daniels Bail Bonding for possession of stolen goods and property, a felony. He received a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Detectives say Daniels is linked to the November 2011 robbery at Baker's Barber Shop on Hwy 33 near Greenville.

Two people were arrested for breaking and entering in that case this past November for allegedly stealing more than $100,000.

Deputies say Joseph Vick broke into the home of Barber Linwood Baker, while his alleged accomplice, Justin Page, got a haircut.

New shoes, clothing, and cigarettes, were some of the items authorities say 26-year-old Vick purchased with the cash.

Pitt County deputies say $54,000 was spent on various things including drugs and prostitutes.

Some of the money had been recovered.

Investigators say Daniels had taken about $90,000 from the home that had been hidden by the suspects.

This investigation is still ongoing.

This is one of the charged people. Now ill tell u the real story. There was almost 200,000 stolen. I was in jail I called Darryl and stayed on the phone with him thewhole Tim. Telling him turn here and turn there. Then he was there. I directed him to exactly 90,000 dollars. He was only supposed to take 35,000. But I should have known. He thought he got away with it but ha ha. Now u will pay the barber 90,000. In restitution and not me. So if u don't tkink he did it your stupid. He's a great father and husband ain't he. And nice mugshot. U hope they take all u got. See u in court.

OK for all you slow folks who are offended that anyone would pose the question why the victim had so much cash because he has the right blah blah. Pull your head out of the sand. The man runs a cash business therefore he keeps it off the record and un taxed. Which is ILLEGAL! Thereby the question arises! Will he pay his due consequence as is being demanded for DW? Doubt it.

Don't feel sorry for this idiot. He knew that money was stolen. I know that b/c information from the people he bailed out said so! You can't use stolen money to bond people out of jail and as a bondsman he should of known that. I can't believe the idiots at the detention center let him bail them when it was obvious where the money came from in the first place.

I wish people would read the article it clearly states more than $100,000 was taken from the home during the robbery. Everyone is entitle to there own opinions but the sheiff department must had a valid reason and evidence to arrest this guy. I feel as the bond should have been much higher so it wouldnt have been so easy to get it. It really upsets me when people work hard for there money and others feel they have a right to steal it. im sure more information will come out know because he will be singing like a bird to stay out of jail

Should I say IRS. Is the $100,000 pre-taxed?
