NEW INFO: No Foul Play Suspected In Jones County Death

Deputies say foul play is now not suspected in the death of a Jones County woman.

Lawmen were called to the home on Killis Murphy Road outside of Pollocksville around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. The elderly woman had been found dead by her grandson.

Deputies say they had some initial concerns over the woman's death and the SBI was called in to assist with the death investigation and to process the scene.

After an autopsy this morning, the Sheriff's Office says no foul play is suspected.

Previous Story

Jones County Deputies said Wednesday evening no one should be alarmed or fear for their own safety after a body was found at a home. They have labeled it a suspicious death, but apparently it was an isolated incident.

The Jones County Sheriff's Office and agents from the State Bureau of Investigation were at the home on Killis Murphy Road, north of Pollocksville Wednesday.

Deputies say they plan to release details only when they have a factually sound case to present.
