Now they've even made their way all the way out to North Campus Crossing. A college student was beaten and robbed there last night!

This town has become the crime capital of the US. The only reason it remains off the national lists is due to its relatively low population. But based on number of robberies, muggings, etc, Greenville RULES!

I was born in Kinston & lived there for 21 years & attended college at ECU. As my Dad would have said, "What in the name of Pete is going on"? Having moved back down east after being away for a number of years, I am sickened to see what has been allowed to happen to these communities. Is there no longer any police leadership or a mayor over the age of 20? Where are the Boards of Commissioners or Planning Boards? Or is the plan to just sit back and let the thugs take over? Where is the ECU Board of Directors? "Helloooooooo Eastern North Carolina - WAKE UP". If only Leo Jenkins were still in charge!!!

What I see to take place is putting some kind police force on every corner, be a person (NG) or a camera out of reach but an eye to see all and help control what is taken place. The fake money is also a good idea.

I have lived in Greenville off and on my entire life. I watched it grow from a town where everyone knew each other to what it is today. Sadly, when you reach a certain size in population, crime expands right along with it. Every town has a bad section so you learn where not to go escpecially after dark. You would think Popeye's would have done their homework before building in an area prone to crime. Or maybe the idea is that you are near the hospital when the crime occurs just in case someone gets shot. It's sad that we even have a "that part of town" to talk about.

Maybe the places that are being robbed should keep a sack of fake $1,000,000 bills to give the robbers. They are probably so stupid they wouldn't know the difference.

Kudos to the young and not so young employees who work at Greenville's fast food restaurants knowing that they will be robbed at gun point sooner or later. Maybe the crimes will move to the doctor's offices since the hospital area is the focus. I bet you money the national guard would be called.

What's all the talk about. Everyone knows that armed robberies, murder, home invasions, etc are allowed in Greenville.. I think anyone that is a victim of a robbery, assalt etc. should sue the police department/city. It is a game for these criminals. Who can rob the most places and who can get the most money. Don't patronize any bussiness other than the grocery store in broad daylight. The businesses will be forced to close or cut back hours. Robbers will not get any money. They will start robbing another area/town. Greenvile will be safer. You certainly can not depend on any other solution. Law enforcement, Police chief, etc. That was proven a long time ago and a lot of robbery and murders ago.
