UPDATE: Victims Identified In Fatal Kinston Shooting


Police in Kinston have identified two men shot, one of them fatally late Friday afternoon.

Commander Rodney Russell says that 18-year-old Jahad Moore died at the scene. Moore suffered a gunshot wound to the head. 24-year-old Jacoby Riddick was shot in the leg and taken to Vidant Medical Center.

Kinston Public Safety Director Bill Johnson tells WITN officers responded to a call of shots fired at the intersection of East Street and Washington Street. There they found two male victims.

No arrests have been made in the shootings.

Johnson said one of the victims was shot in the head. That man died shortly after first responders arrived.

The other male victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Authorities are searching for two male suspects who were seen wearing black clothes. No arrests have been made at this time.
