Police are crediting quick police work and alert witnesses to the quick arrest of three people believed to be connected to an armed robbery.
Greenville police said they were called to Big Daddy's Pizzeria at 2601 E.10th Street around 8:15 Sunday night.
Investigators said two men came in, one with a hand gun, and forced the store owner to the ground, demanding money.
Police said the pair made off with $60 in cash.
GPD spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said within four minutes, people in the area had called in descriptions of the gunmen and their car. Within nine minutes, Hunter said officers had three people detained.
Charged with the Sunday night robbery were 22-year-old Timothy Jones, 23-year-old Elijah Williams and 20-year-old Rodney Whitehurst.
Police say Williams and Whitehurst were also involved in another armed robbery early Thursday morning on East 3rd Street. In that case, several people were standing around a backyard fire pit when four armed men approached them and got away with cash, credit cards and a phone.
