Ayden's New Police Chief On The Job

The town of Ayden in Pitt County has a new police chief, and he's no stranger to the department.

Barry Stanley was the chief in Bethel and is now the head of the Ayden police department.

Stanley, who has 18 years police experience, was with Bethel since 2005. He previously worked for Ayden and Grifton.

The hiring came after the town completed an extensive application and interview process.

Stanley will replace chief Tim Moseley who retired in September.
