Arrest Made In New Bern Purse Snatching

It was the middle of the day Tuesday when a woman in her 60's said she was robbed while she was putting groceries in her car in New Bern.

A suspect is charged in that case now, thanks in large part to the victim. New Bern police say 23-year-old Dustin Burkette of Vanceboro stole the 67-year-old woman's purse as she was putting the groceries in the trunk of her car in the parking lot of the Food Lion at 1214 South Glenburnie.
The man then jumped into another car and took off. The woman however was able to get the tag number from the car and authorities were able to track down the suspects.

Another arrest is expected.
