Police made an arrest in a robbery, just minutes after cash from the register was taken last night.
Kinston police have charged Jessie Courtney, Jr. with common law robbery after the C-Mart on Greenbriar Road was robbed.
Police say around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday a customer tried to purchase an item and jumped over the counter when the cash register was opened. The man then grabbed an undisclosed amount of money.
A witness saw the robber get into a brown Chevy Tahoe, driven by a woman. A partial license tag was given police and a short time later officers detained two people on Rhodes Avenue.
Courtney was jailed on $75,000 bond while Leslie Bryant was charged with accessory after the fact and given a $2,500 bond.
