Arrest Made After Man Shot While Inside Vehicle

An arrest has been made after a Wayne County man was shot while inside a vehicle.

Matthew Coley of Goldsboro has been charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle with serious bodily injury.

Deputies say the shooting happened Sunday at Coley's apartment on Foxcroft Drive.

The victim, Marcus Allen, and three others went to the apartment with a verbal dispute taking place. They say Coley shot the driver's side of the vehicle with a 12 gauge shotgun, striking Allen in the right leg.

The victim was treated at Wayne Memorial Hospital, while the 20-year-old Coley was jailed on a $100,000 bond.
