Arrest Made In New Bern Business Burglaries

Police say they have made one arrest in a rash of business break-ins in New Bern.

Benjamin Krauz is charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of injury to real property and larceny after breaking and entering.

Police say the 22-year-old Krauz participated in the break-ins at Tom's Coins and Antiques on Middle Street and the Realo Discount Drugs on Bridge Town Boulevard last Thursday.

Drugs were taken in the pharmacy burglary, while police say nothing was stolen from the antique store.

Investigators say during their search of the crime scene, they located Krauz's vehicle.

He was jailed on a $5,000 bond and police say further charges and arrests may be pending.

Police have not yet said whether this arrest is connected to break-ins at Bynum's Drug Store or at another Realo location in New Bern that happened earlier this week.
