Woman Charged In Pedestrian Hit & Run

Police say they've made an arrest in a hit and run involving a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

Mary Cleary of Durham is charged with felony hit & run and DWI by Greenville police.

Anastassiya Georgiev of Wilmington was struck at East Fourth Street and Summit Street around 2:15 a.m. Police say they got a description of the vehicle from witnesses and an hour later they found the car at Copper Beech Townhomes.

Police say Cleary admitted to them that she was in the crash and left the scene.

The victim was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
