Murder In Murfreesboro, Police Searching For Clues

The holiday weekend included a funeral for one family in the East, after a murder where lawmen say they don't know who is responsible.

The deadly shooting happened in the Woodbridge Mobile Home Park in Murfreesboro in Hertford County on Tuesday afternoon according to the Roanoke-Chowan News Herald. Twenty-six-year-old Johnny Parker Junior was shot at his home, and died at the hospital, the paper says. The News Herald says the sheriff's office is investigating, but they don't have any suspects yet.

The headline should read another murder, driveby, robbery or dope deal in Woodridge MHP. I would like to see a log on how many calls Hertford County Sheriffs office has to Woodridge per year. if you listen to a scanner it takes at least two deputies at least half a shift answering calls to Woodridge. This has been going on for years at one point the slum lord that owns the MHP gave the sheriffs office a delapadated trailer for a quote unquote "satelite" office, it was shot up by gun fire.I don;t for the life of me see why Sheriff Vaughan does not declare it a public nusiance and close it down With no drug Task Force in the county and no detectives assigned to work only dope areas such as Woodridge MHP continue to breed the personal and propery crime that is rampant in hertford county.Ask the Shreiff why not declare it a nusiance and close one crack and crime haven down for the safety of the tax paying citizens in Hertford county
